The Unbirthday Party
It’s The Steampunk World’s Fair’s fifth anniversary, and that means we could have thrown a birthday party…

…but to be honest, an Unbirthday Party sounded like ever so much more fun. Come join the pleasant madness as we celebrate with exclusive performances, your very own VIP-Only souvenir Distinguished Steampunk Chocolate Mustaches to eat here or take home with you – or simply to show off to those unfortunates who foolishly did NOT get VIP tickets.

We’ll have a mad hatter or two, some of our favorite artisans selling their wares, and no birthday cake whatsoever. (There is, however, a table full of Invisible Inedible Incredible Birthday Cake, indicated by a handsome sign, and you can take pictures with it! Be the envy of all of your friends, who will wish that they were here so that they, too, could eat no cake and then proudly bring home photographic evidence thereof!)

This includes a premium performance by Steampunk magician Nelson Lugo – his ONLY Steampunk World’s Fair appearance. You can ONLY see him with your VIP tickets!

We’re all a little mad here…well, some are madder than others. With Nelson Lugo, Steampunk Magician, EXCLUSIVELY at our Unbirthday Party

Nelson Lugo
– is a Magician, Sideshow Artist, and Batman enthusiast. He was featured by TimeOut NY as a New York Entertainer to watch and co-hosts a popular podcast called “The EPIC PIEcast” for NerdyShow.com. He’s been a guest speaker for The Sunday Assembly NYC, a guest singer for the BTK Band, a storyteller at Adam Wade’s Whatever Happened to the Nerds, and was featured on the Story Collider podcast twice. His solo show called, “Gathering the Magic” that combines slice-of-life storytelling with sophisticated stage magic is currently touring cities across the U.S.

Mutated Soulz: Mutated Soulz FX is a unique experience to anyone willing to witness their brand of entertainment. Living marionettes, remote controlled humans, dance routines, and sideshow acts are just a few of the many wondrous talents offered by this one of a kind performance group from Reading Pennsylvania.

Plus, you’ve a chance to mingle with other wonderful and slightly deranged people, only some of whom are performers.

Remember, the shows at this event will NOT be repeated – only VIPs and Luminaries will see them! Come in and be part of our celebration!

And!

A Raffle for two tickets to attend RuffleCon in Stamford, CT on October 2-4, 2015!!!

This Way To The EGRESS

Since their start in 2008, EGRESS has been told to find a box in which they could fit themselves; however, one needs a rather large box to fit six musicians—and their array of accordions, tubas, guitars, trombones, pianos, and drums. So they haven’t bothered trying and instead... Read More →

VIP Meet & Greet
People ask us if we mean that this is a place where VIPs meet each other, or one wherein VIPs get exclusive access and chances to hang out and relax with many of our famed and talented performers and presenters and other prestigious folk.

It’s both! Our lovely meet and greet is a splendid time to make new friends, discover like-minded souls, speak to famous entertainers and Steampunk celebrities, and generally have a thoroughly grand time. This has historically been a popular event, and a much-desired perk.

Alienist
Reporter Nellie Bly feigns lunacy and gets admitted to Blackwell asylum for “treatment” which fuels her periodicals published after her executed rescue 10 days into her stay.

Blackwell is in dire need of funding. Once founded as a charity of good works it is now in disrepair and a deposit for the cities disturbed and simply the cities misunderstood. (After Nellie Bly's investigations it was determined that many women in Blackwell simply didn't speak English, but otherwise were perfectly sane).

Orderlies at Blackwell were often inmates from the penitentiary next door and had no interest or knowledge of science.

Guests to the Alienist may choose the level of participation they would prefer. If Guests would like to participate less they will be treated as potential donors of Blackwell and be shown demonstrations of examinations and treatment explanations. Those who wish to immerse themselves more fully will be treated as newly admitted patients.
---
'Alienist' features Annie's Shakespeare Shakedown - the talented folks behind 'A Midwinter Night's Dream' (Wicked Faire '15), and the very first Alienist (Necronomicon '14).Shakespeare Shakedown is known for blending authentic text with unscripted, impromptu moments that are both brilliant and true-to-character
